Braves not interested in Hart

The Braves see the Brewers as a potential suitor for Derek Lowe.  But contrary to a report on FOXSports.com, they have never been interested in trading the veteran sinkerballer in exchange for Brewers outfielder Corey Hart.

The report indicated that the Brewers seem reluctant to deal for Lowe because he is owed $45 million over the next three years.  While that is certainly understandable, the Braves have also provided indication that they are not interested in Hart.

In other words, if the Braves end up having to trade Javier Vazquez to the Brewers, there’s little reason to believe that Hart would be part of the return package.

Indications are that the Braves don’t like Hart’s undisciplined offensive approach.  The Brewers outfielder, who could draw a $5 million salary via arbitration this winter, hit .260 with 12 homers and a .753 OPS this past season.

As the Braves continue to explore their options with Lowe, they still think there’s a chance that the Angels may be willing to add the veteran sinkerballer to their young rotation.

It appears that instead of getting a Major League-ready outfielder in return, the Braves would be more interested in digging into the Angels farm system.

Mark, thanks for once again setting the record straight on these rumors.I’ve pretty much learned that anything Ken Rosenthal is complete crap.

Since the Brewers are also shopping Gamel, is he part of the discussion? With Chipper Jones discussing a possible retirement if he has another “average” season, perhaps Gamel is suitable as a potential replacement. His knock, and maybe a deal killer for defensively minded Atlanta, is that his defense is suspect (not Chipper); however he can play the OF if needed.

I also like Hart, who has demonstrated five tool flashes, but I get the Braves position.

Anything to having Gamel as part of a deal?

Ken Rosenthal throws any crap against the wall and hope it sticks. The problem with journalism today is that you don’t have to have reliable sources. The blogging world is perfect for Ken “I Make It Up As I Go” Rosenthal and those like him. Thanks Mark for digging into the story and getting legitimate information.

There’s only one player from the Brewers I’m interested in… and his name rhymes with “Fence Weel’der”…
He avoided arbitration last January by signing a 2 yr contract for $18 million. The Brewers will try to lock him up long term during this off season… but have immediate needs to bolster their starting rotation. They wouldn’t take Lowe… but a deal involving Vasquez and any number of other players including Freddie Freeman might be enticing…

This is the exact reason the Braves do not win anymore $$$$$$having that ridiculous reasoning saying THEY DON’T LIKE HART’S UNDISCIPLINED APPROACH???? then work with the man..oh I forgot Pendelton is the hitting coach HE COULDN’T teach himself out of a wet paper bag.I believe Hart is better than what they have now or what they can afford forget about Holiday or Bay. They are hoping the young gun Heyward can do it..I’m not so sure? great minor numbers but again minor league numbers don’t mean squat once u get to the bigs take at least 100 points off you B.A then go from there…..Atlanta go get HART & WAGNER then take it from there.
